Bettie Montgomery

Bettie is a long time resident and family matriarch of Oak Cliff, Dallas. Her courage and integrity is the space of food justice led her to create a non profit that would freely provide South Dallas residents with fresh produce and herbs. She initiated this passion project in 2015 when she heard the voice of God command her to, "Feed my people," and that's exactly what she has done ever since. She purchased from Bountiful Baskets and shared her abundance with her neighbors without collecting anything from them but occasional thanks. I nominate her for her revolutionary act of kindness and her steadfastness in demonstrating her values.
